What to do while you wait

Find the main stopcock. It is usually near the water meter at the front of the property, or where the pipe comes into the house. Turn it clockwise until it stops.

If it is the geyser, also switch the geyser off at the DB board. A geyser that heats with no water in it burns out the element.

Move what you can out of the way of the water and take a few photos for your insurance. Then leave the rest to us.
